Hines’ 1515 Wynkoop Earns An ENERGY STAR® Score of 98

(DENVER) – The Denver office of Hines, the international real estate firm, announced today that 1515 Wynkoop has qualified for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® label.

The building was certified LEED Gold for Core & Shell in 2009.

With an ENERGY STAR rating of 98, 1515 Wynkoop is in the top three percent of office buildings nationwide in terms of energy performance.

It is 53 percent more energy efficient and saves $1.29 in energy costs per square foot annually when compared to the national average office building.

This translates to estimated annual greenhouse gas reductions equivalent to removing 680 passenger vehicles from the road.

1515 Wynkoop is a 295,220-square-foot, eight-story office building located in the LoDo submarket of downtown Denver.

The project was designed by Hartman Cox and was developed by Hines, which has managed the property since its opening in 2009.

Hines Property Manager Jill Campbell said, “Achieving an ENERGY STAR rating of 98 is a testament to both the success of the building’s efficient design and the proficiency of our Hines engineering staff.

1515 Wynkoop is one of only two properties that have earned a score of 98 or higher in the Denver metro area this year.”

Sustainable features and programs include: full-building lighting control; active occupancy (as-needed air conditioning and lighting); full-building recycling program; and Hines’ GREEN OFFICE for Tenants program, designed to enhance tenant space.

1515 Wynkoop is leased to a roster of tenants that includes Van Gilder Insurance Corporation, Policy Studies Inc. and Polsinelli Shughart law firm.

Polsinelli Shughart’s office space earned LEED certification for Commercial Interiors in 2009.
