Riverwalk is a 200-acre, transit-oriented mixed-use development in San Diego’s Mission Valley submarket. The project is being advanced by Hines and is designed to deliver a large-scale, phased urban infill community aligned with regional infrastructure investment and long-term growth objectives.
Phase One is currently under construction and will deliver more than 700 residential units, a central village green, a new trolley station, and approximately 75,000 square feet of grocery-anchored retail. The phase is supported by a $380 million construction financing package and is progressing despite historically challenging capital markets conditions.
At full build-out, Riverwalk is planned to include approximately 4,300 residential units, including 10% income-qualified housing, 150,000 square feet of retail, one million square feet of office space, and 110 acres of parks and open space, including the restoration of a segment of the San Diego River.
The development reflects Hines’ long-term investment strategy in the living sector and its commitment to delivering high-quality, mixed-use environments that support connectivity, economic vitality, and sustainable placemaking.
