David J. Chilingirian

As Head of Real Estate Finance for the Americas, Dave leads the management and coordination of financial responsibilities through controller teams in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Panama, and the United States. Dave has sourced, negotiated, and led over $2B in debt capitalizations for office, multifamily, industrial, and land developments.

Dave joined Hines in 2007 in Detroit as a Controller with accounting and financial reporting oversight for a portfolio of commercial buildings comprising six million square feet. During GM’s bankruptcy proceedings, he managed annual operating expenses to achieve an annual reduction in excess of 20 percent. In 2009, Dave supported the Midwest and Southeast Region CEO on a vendor leverage project that saved $5 million in annual cleaning expenses and created a debt sensitivity model. He relocated to the Midwest Regional Office and was promoted to Vice President – Controller in 2012. In 2025, Dave was promoted to the Head of Real Estate Finance – Americas. Before joining Hines, he worked at Deloitte from 1991-2003 and at Pulte Homes from 2003-2006.

Dave earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Science in Finance from Walsh College, Michigan.
