Hines' New York office has a strong presence in the commercial real estate sector, with over 24 million square feet of office space and signature developments like One Vanderbilt, One Madison, and 555 Greenwich. In addition to commercial properties, the office is also active in the residential sector, with over 1,350 units completed or underway across multifamily projects in the suburbs and senior housing projects in the city. The New York office currently manages 10.3 million square feet of real estate and has $13.8 billion in assets under management. Hines' involvement in the New York market dates back to 1986, with some of its earliest projects including 383 Madison, 745 Seventh, and 450 Lexington.

Hines entered the nation’s capital in the mid-1980s with the development of Columbia Square designed by Pei Cobb Freed and Partners. The firm has been an active developer, investor, acquirer, and property manager in the district as well as throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Hines completed CityCenterDC, the award-winning mixed-use development located in the heart of downtown D.C. encompassing office, residential, retail, restaurants and stunning common area and park space. The DC office is currently redeveloping the Parks at Walter Reed, the growing, vibrant 66-acre mixed-use community that will include over 3.1 million square feet of new construction and adaptive reuse of existing historic structures once complete. In addition, to its mixed-use developments, Hines is developing numerous land, industrial and multifamily projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
