Eric Hepfer
Senior Managing Director, Southern California, Las Vegas / San Diego, CA
Eric is a Senior Managing Director and leads Hines’ Southern California and Las Vegas platform. He’s responsible for the acquisition, capitalization, diligence, entitlement, development, and asset management of the market’s major product types including commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
Since Eric joined Hines in 2012, he has worked on a variety of acquisitions and developments including LPL Financial at La Jolla Commons, a 13-story, 415,000-square-foot office tower in San Diego, California; Carlsbad Raceway, a 225,000-square-foot industrial development in Carlsbad, California; Liberty Station, a 187,000-square-foot office acquisition in Point Loma, California; and Riverwalk, a 200-acre mixed-use project in San Diego, California, that’s a once-in-a-lifetime effort to create a public park, restore the San Diego River habitat, and establish a vibrant live-work-play neighborhood.
Prior to joining Hines, Eric was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy where he served as a nuclear submarine officer. He completed several at-sea deployments serving in a variety of nuclear engineering and tactical roles and was twice awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
Eric currently serves as the chapter president for NAIOP San Diego and vice chair of NAIOP California. He’s also a guest lecturer at UC San Diego and is active in his local community and church.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Military Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
