Sam is a Managing Director and is responsible for new business generation, development, and asset management in Hines’ San Francisco Bay Area project office. He most recently served as the development officer for Edenvale Industrial Park, a 640,000 square-foot Class A industrial development, which is Hines’ largest development project in Silicon Valley to date.

Sam initially joined Hines as an assistant construction manager in Orange County, working on the development of 2211 Michelson, a 271,000-square-foot, Class A office building in Irvine, California. 2211 Michelson was the first LEED Silver Certified office building on the West Coast.

Sam rejoined Hines in the San Francisco office in 2011 and has since been driving the growth of Hines’ Silicon Valley portfolio while also mentoring the next generation of Bay Area leaders. He has steered the acquisition of 1.2 million square feet of office, industrial, and R&D projects totaling approximately $450 million and over 2.4 million square feet of development. In addition, Sam has helped procure over 2.9 million square feet of tech office campus development for third-party clients.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
