Tom is a Senior Managing Director responsible for new business development in Midwestern markets, including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska. He has led teams in all aspects of commercial real estate, including development, leasing, and asset management.
Over Tom’s 27-year career with Hines, he has managed numerous projects across the U.S. Midwest and Canada. He began at Hines with leasing the firm’s office assets in Chicago before expanding his role to oversee leasing for Hines’ office buildings in the Midwest. He was instrumental in launching many iconic new towers, such as River Point in Chicago and 81 & 141 Bay in Toronto. His role within Hines grew to include office acquisitions through the Hines Core and Value Add funds, acquiring many landmark Chicago assets such as 333 West Wacker Drive, One North Wacker Drive, 321 North Clark, Three First National Plaza, and 131 South Dearborn. Tom also leads Hines Development Management Services in the U.S. Midwest and has secured numerous headquarters assignments. Corporate clients have included H&R Block in Kansas City, Devon Energy in Oklahoma City, Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, CIBC in Toronto, and a multifamily tower in Cleveland, Ohio, for Playhouse Square Foundation. Most recently, he has been engaged with mixed-use and multifamily projects for Hines-led developments in Omaha and Milwaukee.
Tom is a long-time Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association member and supports Holy Family School, a Chicago charter school.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Kenyon College.
