Galleria Announces New Leadership 25-Year Luxury Retail Veteran Tapped to Lead Twin Cities’ Premier Shopping Center

(MINNEAPOLIS) – The Minneapolis office of Hines, the international

real estate firm, announced today the appointment of Luis A. Serrat as Vice President-Retail for Galleria. Serrat will be responsible for all facets of management for the upper Midwest’s most successful

shopping center. In addition, Beth Anderson, a seven-year Hines Minneapolis veteran has been named General Manager and will report to Serrat.

Serrat, who begins in his new position on February 25, most recently served for seven years as Vice President, General Manager of Neiman Marcus’ Minneapolis location.

For 23 years, Serrat worked in various capacities for Neiman Marcus, and prior to that was with Saks Fifth Avenue. He holds a BA in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is active in the Minneapolis community both personally and professionally, is fluent in Spanish, and also speaks Italian and French.

Anderson has been in commercial real estate management and leasing for ten years having previously worked on the West Coast. She holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters degree from St. Cloud State University.

Hines acquired Galleria on behalf of Hines Global REIT in August 2012. Hines’ historical retail portfolio includes the development of The Gallerias in Houston and Dallas. Hines also developed First Colony Mall in Sugar Land, Texas, as well as successful shopping centers in Mexico, Spain and Russia. Hines redeveloped The Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans and Chevy Chase Pavilion, just outside of Washington D.C. The firm is currently developing a major downtown retail/residential/office complex, CityCenterDC in Washington D.C., as well as a large designer outlet shopping center in St. Petersburg, Russia.
