Few things tear at the heartstrings more than knowing a child is facing a life-threatening illness, so it was an easy decision for the Hines Canada team to elect to support the local chapter of the Make-a-Wish foundation. A larger order to fill was finding a group of volunteers able to put aside their fear of heights to take on Make-A-Wish’s Rope for Hope Challenge. This unique event calls on participants to raise funds in support of local wish-granting efforts, in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of rappelling down the edge of one of eight high-profile buildings across Canada.
Braving the altitude and answering the call were four Hines Canada employees who rappelled 180 feet down the side of a 16-story tower in downtown Calgary. The team raised $6,255 which will help to make a very real and life-changing difference in the lives of children who so desperately deserve to see a wish granted.
