(OAK BROOK, IL) – Hines, the international real estate firm, today announced that Oak Brook Commons, a premier mixed-use community of retail, residential, office and hospitality, will add regional brewery Alter Brewing as a restaurant tenant to the mixed-use development.
Alter Brewing Co. has been making award-winning craft beer since December 2015. In 2020, it opened its first Alter Brewing + Kitchen concept in St. Charles, IL marrying its award-winning beer with “altered comfort” cuisine and a full wine and spirits program. The company’s shift to industry-leading hospitality while keeping its craft beer roots is clear with their newest location in Oak Brook Commons.
Alter will join Fogo de Chão, an internationally renowned steakhouse that was founded in Southern Brazil in 1979. Fogo elevates the centuries-old cooking technique of churrasco —the art of roasting high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame—into a cultural dining experience of discovery. In addition to its Market Table and Feijoada Bar, which includes seasonal salads and soup, fresh vegetables, imported charcuterie and more, guests are served simply seasoned meats that are butchered, fire-roasted and carved tableside by gaucho chefs. Fogo is scheduled to open late 2021.
“We are thrilled to welcome these exciting new tenants to Oak Brook Commons,” commented Greg Van Schaack, senior managing director at Hines. “We look forward to continuing to add impressive restaurants and retailers to serve residents, employees, and visitors to the Oak Brook Commons community.”
Ken Henricks, President of Alter Brewing stated, “As we embark on an aggressive growth period of our hospitality division, I can’t imagine a better scenario for our 3rd location than what Hine’s has put together with Oak Brook Commons. The co-tenancy is world class, the mixed-use development plan is perfectly balanced, and the location coupled with its vibrant surrounding communities present an A+ opportunity. In short…we’re ecstatic!”
One Oak Brook Commons is a luxury rental residential community featuring 250 residences and resort-style amenities, including a rooftop pool deck, indoor/outdoor fitness center, club room, rooftop lawn with sunning hill, sports lounge with golf simulator, private resident library, and co-working lounges. One Oak Brook Commons is scheduled to welcome its first residences in January 2022.
In addition to five retail/restaurant pads, at completion, Oak Brook Commons will consist of 250 Class A residential rental units, 210,000 square feet of creative office, 80,000 square feet of medical office, 52 residential condos and a 250-key hotel.
