Two Houston Properties Win BOMA International TOBY Awards

(HOUSTON) – Hines, the international real estate firm, announced today that two Hines-managed properties in Houston were honored with The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY®) Awards at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International’s annual conference, the 2016 BOMA International Conference & Expo.

717 Texas was named the winner in the Earth category, and BG Group Place was named the winner in the 500,000 to One Million Square Feet category. Each property beat out six other regional winner nominees in their categories in order to receive this honor.

This year marked the 30th anniversary of the awards, which are the commercial real estate industry's highest recognition honoring excellence in commercial building management and operations in specific categories of building size or type. To win an International TOBY Award, a property first must win both local and regional competitions. Judging is based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted comprehensive building inspections.

“The TOBY Awards validate our commitment to provide tenants with energy-efficient, cost-effective and productive work spaces. Receiving these awards demonstrates to our owners, tenants and the community that our properties are managed to the highest standard of excellence,” said Hines General Property Manager Amy Wagner.
