Mazzini 9 represents a high-value asset located in the heart of Milan’s historical center. Hines invested in the asset through a strategic joint venture with a large Dutch pension fund manager.
Via Mazzini 9, the former venue for the Banca Agricola Milanese, was designed by Marcello Piacentini and built between 1933 and 1935. The 11,000-square-meter building comprises 10 floors, eight above ground and two below ground.
A significant refurbishment, designed by SSA Scandurra Studio Architettura and completed in May 2020, focused on preserving the iconic exterior and creating new flexible interiors according to the highest international standards of sustainability, featuring a LEED Gold core and shell certificate. The internal courtyard was converted into the green heart of the building, with beautiful trailing indoor plants contributing to creating a relaxing space.
Mazzini 9 is fully let to WeWork, an international real estate company operating physical and virtual shared spaces and office services.
