Alfonso is Co-Head of Investment Management, responsible for developing and overseeing investment and fund strategies that align with Hines' global investment approach. He is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees.

Alfonso joined Hines in 2019 and has a significant track record of delivering significant achievements for investors. He has over 25 years of diverse experience in real estate investment activities throughout the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Prior to joining Hines, he held leadership positions at PGIM Real Estate, most recently serving as Chief Investment Officer for the Americas. He also spent over a decade in Morgan Stanley’s real estate group, where he was a senior member of the real estate investing team in Europe and the Americas.

He is a strong proponent of promoting education for children and college students, ensuring companies are led by diverse individuals. He is a member of the Advisory Board at the Center for Real Estate Finance at Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business and the University of Miami Business School real estate program. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School. He serves in multiple roles with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), including as a ULI Governing Trustee and a member of the Global Exchange Council. He is also a board member of the Pension Real Estate Association Foundation.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in finance and real estate. He divides his time between New York and London and is fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese, having lived in seven countries.
