(PHOENIX) – Hines, the international real estate firm, was recognized by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Phoenix with four of its most prestigious honors on Friday, November 14, during the 2014 TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Awards Event at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel.
24th At Camelback II, the first multi-tenant LEED® Platinum building in Arizona, received BOMA’s TOBY Earth Award for its continuous sustainable practices commitment. Renaissance Square, a LEED Gold certified building, and home to the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, earned BOMA’s TOBY Award in the 500,000 square feet to 1 million square feet category.
In addition, Hines’ Engineering Manager Art Baril, won BOMA’s Engineer of the Year Award and Hines’ General Property Manager Darwyn Harp, won BOMA’s Principal Member of the Year Award.
“Hines is honored that BOMA recognized two of our trophy properties and their on-site management teams, along with two of our outstanding, tenured managers, as we strive to exceed clients’ expectations in the Phoenix market and around the world,” said Director of Property Management and Designated Broker for Hines GS Properties Carol Kleinberg.
24th At Camelback II is a 306,877-square-foot, 11-story office building, in the second phase of a Hines mixed-use master development located at 2325 East Camelback Road in Phoenix’s prominent Camelback Corridor. Originally certified LEED Core & Shell Silver, Hines recently pursued a higher level LEED certification and achieved the LEED Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Platinum certification in October 2013, making 24th At Camelback II the first multi-tenant LEED Platinum building in Arizona.
“Placing a strong emphasis on sustainability and service to clients, we are very proud to be the recipient of this award,” said Property Manager of 24th At Camelback II Michelle Brown.
Renaissance Square, the 965,508 square foot iconic Class A, two-building high-rise office complex Hines acquired in 2007, is located at 2 and 40 North Central Avenue, on one full city block in the hub of downtown Phoenix.
The property features an abundance of amenities including 24-hour security, conference room facilities, a full service athletic club, six on-site restaurants, a jeweler, a shoe shiner and a spacious tree-lined courtyard. Additionally, Renaissance Square is the official office building of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee.
“Hines operates its Class A buildings to the highest standards and we are honored to be part of that esteemed legacy,” said Property Manager of Renaissance Square Steve Hamel.
Art Baril, who has been with Hines for almost 19 years in Phoenix, was instrumental in the procurement of 24th At Camelback II’s 2014 TOBY for the Earth category, and is continually recognized as an industry leader in energy savings innovation, professional training, ethics and team building.
“Hines is always seeking new and innovative ways to increase energy efficiency and lead in professional standards. I’m honored BOMA recognized our steadfast efforts,” Baril said.
Darwyn Harp, who has 18-year tenure with Hines in multiple markets besides Phoenix, is a highly respected professional in the commercial real estate industry and BOMA.
His reputation for honesty and integrity in the business community and his commitment to BOMA’s Allied Partners earned him this award by his peers.
