Hines, the international real estate firm, has announced two asset manager appointments in its UK team to accelerate the growth of its student accommodation and industrial and logistics portfolios.
Alexandra Gumuchian joins Hines UK as an asset manager on the Student Housing team as part of the firm’s continuing expansion strategy in this key sector. Alexandra will be responsible for managing Hines UK’s 11 student housing assets in the UK and Ireland. She joins Hines from iQ Student Accommodation, where she worked as an investment associate, and also has five years of experience working at Savills. In her new role, Alexandra will be working alongside Jurrien de Koning, who is spearheading the growth of Hines’s student accommodation portfolio.
Mickey Scott joins the firm as an asset manager in the Industrial and Logistics team. He will be responsible for managing the growing portfolio of Hines UK logistics assets, both within its joint venture portfolio with Chancerygate and those managed on behalf of the firm’s discretionary funds. With the strength of demand in the sector continuing to rise, Mickey’s appointment adds momentum to recent transactions including the sixth acquisition for the firm’s joint venture with Chancerygate and the acquisition of a 270,248-square-foot distribution facility in Bristol occupied by DSG Retail. Mickey joins Hines UK following over five years of experience working across property funding, logistics and office assets at Tesco. Working alongside Greg Cooper, who is fronting the expansion of the portfolio, Mickey’s experience with the retailer will drive forward the team’s client focus.
Ross Blair, Senior Managing Director and Head of Hines UK, said: “We have a strong appetite across our growing discretionary funds for UK real estate, with student housing and logistics being key areas of focus for our firm. There is more room for growth in both these markets and the appointment of Alexandra and Mickey will further bolster our capabilities and we’re pleased to welcome them to our growing UK team.”
The UK Hines team is currently active in the office, retail, student housing and logistics sectors, managing a combined UK property portfolio worth more than ÂŁ2bn and located in London and key regional cities.
