(SHANGHAI) – Hines, the international real estate firm, today announced that One Museum Place has been awarded WELL Platinum by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™). The prestigious distinction was awarded through IWBI’s WELL Building Standard™ (WELL), which is the premier building standard to focus on enhancing people’s health and wellness through the buildings where we live, work and play.
The 60-story, premium Grade A office tower has also achieved RESET® v2 certification. Internal air quality is a key metric for occupiers in China, and the RESET standard communicates air-quality performance to tenants on an ongoing basis.
To be awarded WELL and RESET certification, One Museum Place underwent rigorous testing and a final evaluation carried out by both organizations to ensure it met all performance requirements. One Museum Place received LEED® Platinum (Core & Shell), WELL Platinum (v2 Pilot) and RESET v2 certification in mainland China.
Lastly, One Museum Place has also received LEED O+M v4.1 Platinum certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings (EB) Rating System. LEED is the most widely used green building appraisal system in the world and an international symbol of excellence, and the certification covers all types of buildings, as well as all construction phases. Projects that pursue LEED certification are scored for the green building strategies across several categories, including location and transport, sustainable sites, water efficiency, and indoor air quality.
“Hines has always been committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our tenants, residents, guests and employees. With a reinvigorated emphasis on ESG, we are collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to find solutions and promote wellness at work and home, as well develop new buildings, and adapt existing buildings with wellness and sustainability at the forefront,” said Tina He, managing director at Hines.
One Museum Place earned the WELL distinction based on seven categories of building performance—Air, Water, Light, Nourishment, Fitness, Comfort and Mind—and achieved a Platinum level rating. Within the seven categories, there are more than 100 standard items and the team at One Museum Place had to achieve over 80% of them in order to be certified.
Designed by Gensler, One Museum Place is a world-class, premium Class A office building that delivers exceptional ecological performance. In addition to these new certifications, One Museum Place has also been awarded the 2019 MIPIM Asia Award for Best Green Development and the 2021 RICS Award of Excellence-Sustainability Achievement of the Year and is one of the city’s LEED Platinum-certified office towers.
