About 40 Mercer

40 Mercer is a 13-story, 40-unit luxury  condominium located in the Soho Historic District in lower Manhattan. The building is situated on a former department store site. Consistent with the neighborhood, the project includes retail and residential amenity spaces on the ground and basement levels. The building was designed by Atelier Jean Nouvel. Construction began in late 2004 and was completed in the second quarter of 2007. All of the residential units were sold by July 2007.

Some notable features at 40 Mercer are: a series of mirrored glass panels spanning 26 feet tall by 100 feet long; a wrap-around terrace, which includes two large private terraces, each with their own pool; a common outdoor area, and four unique outdoor cabanas; a number of windows that open with the push of a button, the largest of which are 11 feet high by 20 feet long; a card reader installed at the lobby level which identifies the unit owner and takes them directly to their floor.
