Richard Heaton

Mr. Heaton is the firm's Chief Legal Officer responsible for oversight of the global Legal, Compliance and Risk Management groups. He is a member of the firm’s Audit & Compliance Committee. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has successfully built a highly functioning, global in-house legal department. He has guided his team to focus on a business approach to transactions and to improve processes to deliver quality services in a cost-efficient manner with a client-service mindset. Prior to joining Hines, he worked in the law firms of White & Case and King & Spalding, and as Assistant General Counsel at a Texas-based retail developer.

Heaton earned his BA in Language Interpretation and Translation from Brigham Young University and his JD from New York University School of Law.
